Interested in studying? Introductory information and application

The Bachelor's degree programme in Life Science provides a solid basic knowledge in both biology and chemistry. The purpose of the Bachelor's  degree in Life Science is to provide a broad qualification in the key subject areas:

  • Bioprocess technology
  • Bioinformatics
  • Molecular biology
  • Biology and chemistry of natural substances

Life Science is an interdisciplinary, application-oriented degree programme that focuses on the interface between biology and chemistry. In this field of work, where biology and chemistry increasingly overlap, the mutual understanding of processes at the molecular, cellular and organismic level is necessary to understand the processes at the site of action in biological systems.

Life Science is an application-oriented degree programme that focuses on the interface between biology and chemistry. In this field of work, where biology and chemistry increasingly overlap, the mutual understanding of processes at the molecular, cellular and organismic level is necessary to understand the processes at the site of action in biological systems. Students acquire subject knowledge and the ability to overview overall interrelationships of the subjects. Content-related and didactic measures, the teaching of communicative skills as well as the sharpening and promotion of a personal attitude and the definition of values serve this purpose. The students are prepared for a broad professional requirement profile through the acquisition of methodological and social competences.
