Dr. Yvonne Spychala from the Institute of Geology has received the Hans-Cloos-Prize 2021 by the German Geological Society (DGGV).
The prize, which has been awarded every year since 2000, was presented during the annual meeting of the DGGV. The award honours young scientists who have already made outstanding contributions to the geosciences. Dr. Spychala conducts research in the fields of clastic sedimentology, process sedimentology and stratigraphy. Among other things, she works to improve the understanding of deep marine depositional systems.
For her achievements, Dr. Spychala received a prize money from the DGGV as well as funding to attend an international congress of her choice.
