The Master's programme in Molecular Microbiology includes microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, genetic engineering, environmental and drug research. The degree programme is both research-oriented as well as application-oriented, since it combines basic research in the fields of microbial genetics and biochemistry, microbial cell biology, virology, infection biology, environmental microbiology and lab work in the fields of biotechnology, microbiological chemistry, active substances. This degree programme is geared towards today's requirements in areas of basic molecular research, industrial research and development and microbiological analytics.

Curriculum 

In your first semester you will go through a levelling in molecular microbiology, cellular cell biology, microbial chemistry and environmental microbiology, which will raise your knowledge and practical skills to a common level. You can focus on your area of interest as early as the second semester. With research-oriented teaching, you will be able to penetrate the multi-layered aspects of molecular microbiology, experience the professional networking of promising research areas and work on current research projects.

The PO regulates the examination requirements and procedure. It specifies the modules as well as the number and type of examinations, the registration and examination periods and the rules for cancelling examinations.
