PhD Position at the Institute of Neuroanatomy and Cell Biology (Medical School Hannover)

A PhD position is available in the Institute of Neuroanatomy and Cell Biology at the Medical School Hannover. The research in our institute is focused on neuronal regeneration and molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative disorders including Parkinson’s disease and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).

We are looking for highly motivated applicants holding diploma or master’s degree in biology, biochemistry or related fields. Experience in molecular biological techniques and protein biochemistry are required. FELASA-B certificate and some practice with animal experiments is a plus, but not strictly necessary.

The successful candidate will participate in a collaborative EU / Latin America project aiming the development of camelid nanobody-based molecular tools for in vivo imaging and therapeutic use. The candidate will participate in the PhD programme offered by the Center for Systems Neuroscience (ZSN), which provides excellent training and opportunity to acquire a broad knowledge in the neuroscience related fields of research.
Starting date is October/November 2017.
