Gender and Diversity Day 2022 – dimensions of diversity
The team of the Equal Opportunities Officer of the Faculty of Natural Sciences cordially invites you to this year''s Gender and Diversity Day, a highly interactive dialogue and exchange forum for all status groups of the faculty and interested parties of other faculties and institutions of LUH.
Date is the 16.05.2022 from 9:00-16:00.
The event will take place ONLINE on ZOOM in German language!
Partial participation is also possible and very welcome!
What do we know about diversity in our everyday university life of studies, education, research and administration? What dimensions does it have and what challenges and opportunities are related to it? Interested parties from all status groups of the faculty and other LUH institutions are cordially invited to listen, discuss, learn and jointly develop suggestions for improvement that can be implemented in everyday faculty life. A colourful mix of scientific input, reports on experiences from professional practice and everyday university life, combined with practical exercises and workshops in small groups under expert guidance offers inspiration and opportunity for this purpose.
The interactive format offers space to exchange topic-related thoughts and ideas on one''s own university and academic everyday life. The aim is to raise awareness and to reflect together in order to identify practical fields of action and personal needs at the personal level and at the institutional level. The workshops are led and supervised by the respective experts in the subject area and the team of the Equal Opportunities Officer of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. The results are presented and discussed in the final plenary session.

- Dimensions of Diversity: Factual situation in the everyday life of science and studies
- First generation students /doctoral students
- Queer /LGBTIQ+
- Internationality: experiences of migration and racism
- Possible actions for better implementation (best practice)
Schedule:
9:00 a.m Opening
„Warming up“, Interactive keynote talks by experts and reports on the experiences of those concerned.

Individual exchange and reflection in small groups
Final discussion of the results in plenary

What possibilities for action can be derived from this for a better practice of diversity in one''s own sphere of activity in everyday university life? Experts from academia and practice will report and be available for discussion with you. In the morning we offer interactive impulse lectures, direct experience reports and exercises. In the afternoon, there will be interactive reflection rounds and short workshops on various diversity topics.
