The American Ceramic Society (ACerS) has appointed apl. Prof. Dr. Armin Feldhoff as a Fellow at its 127th Annual Meeting in Columbus, Ohio. This distinction recognises his outstanding contributions to the ceramic sciences and technology.

Professor Feldhoff received the honour for his significant research achievements in the field of functional materials, particularly his work on ionically and electronically mixed conducting ceramics for gas separation, as well as thermoelectric ceramics for energy conversion. The society also acknowledged his longstanding commitment to supporting early-career researchers. He was already honoured in 2022 with the D. T. Rankin Award for his significant contributions.
As the founding chair of the Energy Materials and Systems Division (EMSD) within the ACerS, Professor Feldhoff initiated and served as lead organiser of the symposium 'Energy Materials for Sustainable Development' at the international 'Materials Science and Technology conference' in 2021. He continued to play a key role in organising this symposium annually through to 2025.

With over 11,000 members from more than 70 countries, ACerS stands as one of the leading international professional societies dedicated to research, knowledge exchange and the practical application of ceramic and related materials. The Energy Materials and Systems Division represents the society in the study and technological implementation of ceramics, glass materials and associated technologies for energy harvesting, conversion, storage and usage.
